Dear Sir/Madam,Perhaps because I never mailed the letter which I've edited for clarity, I can't remember hearing from the college. I eventually chose to report back to Starehe to pursue an IT diploma in the institute division of the school.
RE: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
I'm a 17-year old Form Four student at Starehe Boys' Centre. Upon completing my high school education later this year, I would like to pursue an IT course at your institution before joining university.
I would appreciate it if you sent me information about the course, including fees and scholarship opportunities.
Hoping you will take my request into consideration, I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours faithfully,
John Thuita Maina.
Studying in Starehe Institute turned out to be an enriching experience. I very much felt at home in the school where I pursued my interests - music, public speaking and computer programming - with zeal.
Looking back, I'm glad I went back to Starehe because if there is anything I've learnt about life, it is that we're more susceptible to exploitation when we are desperate for something - be it a job, money or a spouse.
