A Book That Spurred Me to Write

In 2008 when I read GCSE Modern World History during long holidays, I admired the quality of writings in some letters the author quoted. I must have wished to produce writings of such quality.
Not surprisingly, I picked up writing as a hobby in 2010. Soon, writing stories became my stimulant of choice. And it's like I wanted everyone I knew to read the stories I wrote.
As I churned out more stories, I did a lot of lying, exaggerating and plagiarism because I had a poor imagination. I also lacked confidence as a writer.
Once when I went to follow up on a job I had applied for, guilt washed over me when I imagined one stern man telling me I was wasting time writing stories. I could hear his voice in my head saying, "Get a real job man!"
Gladly, I never gave up writing stories even when the going got tough. And one book called "Writers INC" has spurred me to keep on writing. It's really nice.
Thanks to that book, I now know that writing makes us better thinkers and learners, helps us shape a meaningful life and satisfies our need to connect with other people.
Since writing becomes real when it has an audience, the book advises us to set up a site for sharing our writings, like what I did with this blog. Here's to many years of blogging!
